At the club's AGM on Dec 8th 2008, Alvin Mc Evoy was elected new Club Secretary, while Thomas O'Connor assumed the role of Treasurer.
Alvin replaces Donal Sheridan, who stood down after 3 years in the position, while Thomas is replacing John Brady, who had 2 years done in the Treasurer's role.
Both outgoing officers were commended on their diligent work, and thankfully, neither man is being lost to the club, after both were later elected onto the incoming committee.
Other new faces to the officer-board are Gerry Mc Namee, who comes-in as Assistant Treasurer, Una Pearson is the club's new Ladies County Board delegate, John Kerr will be responsible for acting as Minor Board Delegate, and Sandra O'Connor is the new Youth officer.
In his Chairman's address, Liam O'Hagan reflected on a mixed year. The highlight was undoubtedly the official opening of the clubhouse, while the lowpoint was the failure of the mens adult team to capture any silverware, falling short in both c'ship and League. Still, the Girls under-14 team won the Shield, while the Under-16s reached the League and c'ship finals.
Hugh Mc Parland, who stood down as adult team manager recently, was praised for his effort and commitment along with his selection team, while also standing-down is Tom Molloy, the Junior 2 manager.
Both positions are being left vacant, until a special sub-committee reports back with recommendations.
On the financial front, the priority for the year ahead will be to reduce the club's sizeable debt, brought-about by the completion of the clubhouse.
