2010 Junior Football C'ship....

Round 2, Castlebellingham Fri night July 23rd

Dowdallshill  0-9   St Fechins  0-9

Our lads came from 6-1 and 9-7 behind to force a deserved draw with the Fechins, however the result wasn't good enough to see us to clinch top-spot in the section. Instead, the Termonfeckinmen were deemed Group winners, by virtue of score difference and their bigger win over the John Mitchells.

This game was one we could certainly have won, but for some wayward shooting.

After falling 6-1 in arrears, we recovered well and just trailed by 3 points at the break, 7-4.

Scores weren't in plentiful supply in the 2nd half, but entering the closing stages, it was the Fechins who held the whip hand at 9-7.

However we forced the issue in the closing minutes, sending over the last 2 scores to force the draw.

Round 1, Knockbridge Thursday night 15th July

Dowdallshill   1-16      John Mitchells  0-5

This comfortable win over the Mitchells in our opening Group fixture, means we're already assured our place in the q-finals.

In truth, we were never troubled from the outset, and a goal from former c'ship winning captain Ciaran O'Callaghan had us in the ascendancy by the break, at which point we led 1-8 to 0-1.

We went on to add eight points in the second half, while at the same time, the Mitchels could only muster-up four scores.

On the night, we had good displays from Peter Hughes and Ciaran O'Callaghan along with Paul Gill and Noel Finnegan who contributed a large share of our points.
